(UNDER CONSTRUCTION! Like- Very Under Construction. I Have...NOT HAD THE TIME!)
This is a directory of not only cool things I like but a directory of Places where you can find cool things I might not even know about!
So in a way it's both a recs page, and a links out page. Bookmarks are provided for ease of navigation. If your looking Specifically for Websites though
just scroll to the bottom.
(One day...this will be updated...one day...)

Games:
- The 02A2 2024 Game Jam and it's previous occurances is a Game Jam where people making VNs work under these restrictions
one sprite / one character / one pose (multiple expressions without change in pose are okay)
one background / one place / one time of day
one illustration (in place of the one sprite and one background)
one thousand words
as a result of these restrictions I find what's been created Extremely Interesting. Since everything is so limited people find New Creative Ways to do things and tell stories and
that's just fun to read. Especially when there so small. I've been too busy to go through all of them yet but my current favorite is Euexorista
so go give it a look.
- I've admittedly haven't gotten the chance to check out most of Indiepocalypse's catalogue but I think anyone interested in the indie sphere should look into at least One Issue of theirs.
It's a monthly game anthology collecting games from ten developers for 15 dollars, and they have a Starter Guide about what they do and where to start.
Even if you don't have the money, or unsure of getting All the games, the games shown there tend to have there own pages and some go for cheaper or for free so there's not much to lose.
- Spooktober is another Game Jam! I've linked the 2023 one but it's an annual event! I haven't gone through all of this either because it's uh- well scary
and I have to hype myself up for scary things but there's a lot of good things in there there from what I have played, and a lot of stuff that I think look interesting. If your a fan of horror I'd say it's worth taking a look and see if there's
anything that sparks your interest.
- Worst Girls Games is the dev team made up of Aevee Bee and
Max Schwartz and the creators of We Know the Devil and Heaven Will Be Mine. We Know The Devil is a Queer Horror Visual Novel about Three Queer
Kids in a Christian Summer Camp, and Heaven Will Be Mine is a mecha vn about girls fighting for the fate of space. The writing is thoughtful and contemplative but also really funny and
cheeky when the moment calls for it. Also the art is really pretty! They are both on Steam and Itch.io!
- Mossinasi, mlkrn and there joint studio But Wholesome Games
creates some beautiful and really compelling Visual Novels, a personal favorite of mine is The Grey Wolf and the Little Lamb and I highly reccomend you check them out and see what they've been up to.
- Mokadevs creates some really interesting and pretty games.
Recently got introduced to them through the Visual Novel The Moon Looks Beautiful Tonight which is a fantastic VN about two maintenance workers stranded in space. Go check 'em out!
- Mushroom Musume is a game made by Mortally Moonstruck Games
and is a raising sim in the style of Princess Maker Games where you Raise your Mushroom Daughter! It's extremely fun and there's a lot of
things to discover in it both when it comes to what mushrooms you can grow your daughters into and what fates await them. Give it a try if you like these types of
raising games!
- Hypnospace Outlaw is a game about an alternate unvierse 1999 web and thus if your on neocities.org You Should Play It.
It's a bit of a detective game in which you a Hypnospace Enforcer meant to enforce the rules of the titular Hypnospace that you surf the web on, with a lot of interlocking plots, webpages
and characters that interacting in many ways, some you might not even find out on first playthrough because the main way you search this web is through typing keywords into the search box and hoping you find something.
It's great. It made my cry. Chowder Man Forever.
- I've generally been linking things that I know to be indie, and on the less publicized part of the indie sphere (which is- an admitedly vague descriptor) but I need
to reccomend my favorite VN of all time everyone meet my favorite child Digimon Survive.
Digimon Survive is one of my favorite games of all time despite it's Many Flaws and I wholeheartedly reccomend it because I love it. Please play it for me so it's not just me and
5 other guys who know what this is.
Shows:
- Diminish is a series of Youtube videos about a video game created for one person by someone that cared a lot about him.
It's not real. I'll just say that upfront since I know that can influence how people feel about it. But it's depiction of grief is visceral and really damn good so you should watch it if you feel up for
the subject matter.
- If your looking for some new indie animations to watch then I have quite a lot of Student Films and Similar that I just have Lying Around.
Calarts has playlists of the batch of that year and what films they've made
(I'd reccomend watching Detecitve Alice and The Inside Game from 2022,) and I'm a big fan of a lot of Gobelins films,
for non-student films I don't have a playlist for that yet so it's harder to link a big collection of them but Kamigoroshi and Mandlebrot Hall seem like pretty interesting new things and
I'm fond of ENA.
Oh and go check out Dead Sound! He makes some
3D Animated stuff that inspired me a lot when I was getting into art, and if your a big fan of Dinosaurs he's currently making a series about Sci Fi 'saurians which is probably of interest.
- Again, these links are supposed to be for more underground stuff but I gotta give a shotout to some uh...slightly less niche but still niche stuff like Revolutionary Girl Utena and Digimon and also
Milgram which you can watch Free on Youtube. It's about ten murderers and is really good and has Social Commentary
The girl who this website accidentally got themed around is from there go look at her for me please.
Webcomics/Manga:
UNDER CONSTRUCTION! I NEED TIME TO PUT IT ALL TOGETHER!
Other (Zines/Manifestos/Collections/etc):
- Drawing for Nothing is a free online book about Cancelled and/or troubled Animated Films! It has a lot of interesting behind the scenes material and commentary on each film present, both well-known and not
that I just find it to be a really interesting read. It's never going to Stop being updated and it doesn't have a set update schedule but it really is an Extremely Fascinating
read so check it out if your interested in these productions!
- Manifesto Jam 22 is another Jam but for Manifestos! Specifically the 2022 version but I'm going to
name a few from the first one ever because I also really like them. If I had to name a favorite it would be
Good Writers are Perverts and I'm saying that as an aroace so you Really Know it
has to be good (joke) but also it is absolutely good I absolutely agree with the thesis statement here.
- Zines! You love Zines! I love Zines! Everyone loves Zines! I have a few Fandom Zines like Phantasmagoria
which is an RPGmaker one and Digi-girl Vol 1 and
Digi-girl Vol 2 both of which are Digimon Zines,
Fighting Game Collab which is a zine with a focus on fighting games and pixel art and just...
so much more, but if your looking for non-fandom zines that might be of interest there's Growing Together
which is a zine about the queerness of game creators, Cringe Culture is Alive
which is about the still-living presence of cringe culture, and Very Online which is about bad times on the internet.
- Settei Dreams is a Phenonomonal Archive of Animation Production Materials that you can look at, for free! It has
artbooks, color designs, story boards, production sketches, and, of course, settei! It's such a wonderful website that exists on the web and I cannot be happier that it exists.
- The Creator's Guide to Comics Devices is a giant library of various devices and tool used in comics! If you want to
learn about the various devices and terms used for them then go here! It's a really nice read for both comic enjoyers and creators!
Other People's Websites:
- I won't be describing everyone website here but I gotta give a shout out
to Angel Garden for being the reason why this site uh...exists in
the first place. Cause I found it one day and went "Wow. I need to make a website now."
As said on it's entry there's a lot of flashing lights and gifs on it and so on, but go check it out if you want to!
- There's also Melonland Project as well was also really important when it came for me starting this site. Since it was one of the first websites on this part of the web
I stumbled upon and has a lot of resources and interesting links when it comes to websites, and Sadgrl who has an utterly comprehensive
guide on website building!
- Now onto...the website lighting round! (Currently Unifinished I...I want to link a lot of sites)
